TCU Falls 76-71
HONOLULU (AP) -- Jody Lumpkin scored 24 points and Jeff Bolton added 14 points and 10 rebounds as College of Charleston defeated TCU 76-71 Sunday in the third-place game of the Hawaii Pacific University Thanksgiving Classic.
Lumpkin made 10-of-15 shots from the field and went 4-of-6 from the free throw line.
College of Charleston's largest lead was 41-23 with 18:40 remaining in the game. A free throw by Ryan Carroll cut the lead to 66-61 with 3:18 left, but TCU (3-2) couldn't get any closer.
College of Charleston (4-1) made 7-of-8 free throws in the final 1:18 to seal the victory.
Greedy Daniels, TCU's leading scorer, fouled out at the 1:18 mark after scoring seven points.
TCU averaged 105.8 points in its first six games. The Horned Frogs made only three of their first 20 3-point attempts.
College of Charleston slowed the tempo of the game by using primarily a 1-2-2 zone.
Derrick Davenport scored 14 points and Carroll and Myron Anthony added 13 apiece to lead TCU.
