TCU Beast San Jose State, 65-58

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Greedy Daniels scored 26 points and had seven steals as Texas Christian beat San Jose State 65-58 Saturday night.

Daniels, who entered the game tied for fifth place on the TCU all-time single season steal list, moved up to second place with 70. The total puts Daniels, who hit 9 of 14 shots, 26 steals behind the Horned Frogs' all-time leader, Mike Jones, who had 96 in the 1997-98 season.

The Spartans, averaging 65.6 points a game to TCU's nation-leading 100.6, managed to get the tempo they wanted but were unable to hold the lead down the stretch. They took a 46-41 lead with 11:12 remaining as Billy Landram hit a 3-pointer. But Daniels keyed a late run with a free throw and a steal that he took in for a layup to put TCU up 57-51.

The Horned Frogs (12-3, 2-0 WAC), who ended the game on a 12-7 run over the final four minutes, have now won all 10 of their regular season games in Fort Worth and have won nine of their last 10.
