Excellent deep snapper in punting situations... often in the mix in coverage duties as well as has the speed to cover the field... has handled the deep snapping duties for the past two years... is just the third long snapper at TCU in the past 10 years as Ashby Porter (1993-96) and Brian Edmondson (1997-2000) handled the duties for four seasons each... named pronounced BERK-ul.

2002: Handled the deep snapping duties nearly flawlessly, working with three-year starting punter Joey Biasatti... credited with a pair of tackles in coverage.

2001: Had an excellent season as the Frogs' deep snapper in his first year as a regular... often is in the mix in covering punts as he recorded six tackles during the season on special teams, including four solo stops... also recovered a fumble.

2000: Served as a squadman as a redshirt freshman.

1999: Redshirted as a true freshman.

High School: Attended MacArthur High School in San Antonio... Earned all-district and all-city honors in both his junior and senior seasons... lettered in football and baseball... also earned academic all-state honors in football and baseball.

Personal: Richard Andrew Boerckel is the son of Rich and Jean Boerckel... born December 11, 1980... earned a degree in biology.
