Candidate for the Lou Groza Award in 2003 after earning first-team Verizon Academic all-America and first-team all-Conference USA honors in 2002... was the first TCU player to earn first team Academic all-America honors since 1980... earned fourth-team all-America honors by The Sporting News... was one of eight semifinalist for the Socrates Award, which goes to the college athlete who best exemplifies excellence in athletics and academics... has connected on 37-of-50 career field goal attempts... named Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week four times during his career... selected as Playboy magazine's Scholar/Athlete of the Year.

2002: Connected on 23-of-30 field goal attempts, an NCAA-best 1.92 field goals made per game... led the team, was second in the conference and 18th in the country in scoring, averaging 8.75 points per game... successful on 9-for-9 field goal attempts from inside the 30 and 18-for-20 inside the 40-yard line... scored 105 points, the most by a kicker in TCU history and the fourth most points for any TCU player regardless of position... was a two-time C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week in 2002... earned the award following a standout performance at Cincinnati in the season-opener... established a school record and tied the Conference USA mark with five field goals in that contest... hit from 22, 43, 36, 50 and 48 yards out... his 50-yarder matched his career long... also added a pair of extra points to account for 17 of the Frogs' 29 points... hit 3-of-3 field goal attempts and scored 14 points in the win at Army... earned C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week after converting on 3-of-3 field goal attempts in the win over Southern Miss, including a 48-yarder... hit three more field goals in the win over Tulane... also played on the TCU men's soccer team... scored one goal... selected by Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine as the top collegiate placekicker in the state of Texas for 2002.

2001: Former walk-on who earned the starting placekicking chores during fall practice... recorded a "double-double," leading the 2001 Frog football and soccer teams in points... on the gridiron, he was TCU's top scorer with 72 points and was a two-time Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week... tied for the conference lead and ranked 26th in the country with 1.27 field goals made per game... tied for third in the league with 6.5 points scored per game... converted 30-of-31 extra point attempts and hit on 14-of-20 field goals... six of his 14 field goals came from 40 yards or beyond, including a career-long 50-yarder vs. Louisville... hit six-of-eight from 40 yards or beyond... the 50-yarder vs. Louisville tied for the 10th longest field goal in TCU history and was the longest for the Frogs since 1998, highlighting his second Player of the Week accolade... connected on a 47-yard attempt vs. East Carolina and from 46 yards out vs. Houston... was the Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week after tying the school record with four field goals vs. North Texas... took over the kickoff duties following an injury to Shane Hudnall... also was the leading scorer on the TCU soccer team with five goals and three assists for 13 points... also carried a 4.0 GPA.

High School: Was a two-sport standout at Naaman Forest High School in Garland... earned all-district honors on the gridirion as a kicker and named to the all-state academic team... excelled on the soccer field as well, as he was twice named to the all-area team... earned first team all-district honors in each of his final three seasons... named the district offensive MVP as a senior... led the Metroplex in assists as both a sophomore and junior... played on the state championship team as a senior... captain of his high school and club teams... scored 62 goals and tallied 89 assists during his high school soccer career.

Personal: Nicholas Joseph Browne was born November 19, 1980... is the son of Michael and Kim Browne... a finance major at TCU who plans to earn either an MBA or law degree after graduation.
