Experienced tight end who brings senior leadership to the position... expected to step up this season following the graduation of Matt Schobel and B.J. Roberts and turned in a solid spring... catches the ball well and makes few mental mistakes... has made five career catches for 78 yards, a 15.6 yards per catch average... has made one career start (Rice-2000).

2001: Played in every game during the 2001 season... also saw action on special teams as well as tight end... caught two passes for 16 yards... had a four-yard reception vs. North Texas then caught a 12-yard pass vs. SMU... credited with one tackle... missed much of the two-a-days with a separated shoulder.

2000: Appeared in 10 games, catching three passes for 62 yards, including a 37-yard reception against San Jose State... caught two passes for 25 yards vs. Navy.

1999: Saw limited playing time... role increased in the latter part of the year.

1998: Redshirted as a true freshman.

High School: A four-sport standout at Friona High School... earned first-team all-district 1-3A honors as a defensive end and second-team as a tight end... also named to the Amarillo Globe-News Super Team... earned All South Plains and Lubbock Avalanche Journal Top 15 honors... compiled 257 tackles and 24 quarterback sacks in three years... also recorded 21 receptions as a tight end... a three-time all-district performer as a basketball player, an all-district center fielder on the baseball team and a standout on the track and field squad as well... selected TCU over Texas Tech, Colorado State and New Mexico.
