Intelligent player who has a good grasp of the offense... can run well and is working to improve his explosiveness... has regained much of the weight lost due to health problems in 2001 and is expecting a breakthrough season... versatile performer... is the returning starter at center, but moved to guard during the spring.

2001: Battled serious internal health issues that began prior to the start of the season and lingered throughout the campaign... was held out of several practices during the fall two-a-days and the first weeks of the season... due to his limited practice time, was not in the starting lineup in the season-opening game at Nebraska... started the remaining 11 games of the season despite not being at 100 percent physically... the health problems which affected his liver, was finally diagosed in January 2002 as autoimmune hepatitis... the disease would not allow him to digest his food properly and caused him to lose a significant amount of weight... medication has the disease under control.

2000: Saw action in six games in the 2000 season... recorded 10 knockdown blocks... moved from tackle to center during the spring.

1999: Saw considerable action as David Bobo's top backup at tackle.

1998: Redshirted as a true freshman.

High School: A two-time All-District 22-4A performer as both a center and defensive lineman at Channelview High... earned all-Greater Houston honors... also lettered in basketball and track... selected TCU over SMU, UTEP and New Mexico.
