Team Notes
*TCU's captains were Trevone Boykin, Sam Carter, Jon Koontz and Casey Pachall.

*No. 12 LSU represented TCU's highest-ranked opponent in a season opener since it defeated No. 5 Oklahoma 17-10 in 2005.

*TCU drops to 2-6-1 in its series history versus LSU. The teams met for the first time since 1968.

*The Horned Frogs are now 9-4 in season openers under head coach Gary Patterson. TCU entered the game having won nine of its last 10 season debuts.

*TCU is now 3-1 when debuting a new single-game uniform from Nike over the last five seasons.

Individual Notes
*Defensive end Matt Anderson made his first career start. He played in his first game since 2010. He missed the previous two seasons due to injury.

*Jonathan Anderson made his first career start at linebacker. He had four previous starts at weak safety.

*After starting nine games at quarterback last season, Trevone Boykin made his first career start at wide receiver. Casey Pachall also saw action at wide receiver.

*B.J. Catalon's 100-yard kickoff return tied for second longest in TCU history, behind only a 105-yard effort by Charles Casper against Texas in 1933.

*Catalon had TCU's first 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown since Cory Rodgers at BYU in 2005.

*Catalon's 100-yard kickoff return set an AT&T Stadium record for a collegiate game.

*Catalon's 26-yard third-quarter touchdown run was his first career rushing score.

*True freshman Ty Slanina recorded his first career reception, for eight yards, in the fourth quarter.

*Safeties Chris Hackett and Elisha Olabode had a team-high 10 tackles. Hackett was one shy of a career-best 11 versus Oklahoma last season, while Olabode equaled a career high set last year at Oklahoma State.

*Hackett and Jason Verrett recorded their first career sacks.

*Verrett totaled seven tackles and three pass breakups.

*Kevin White's four pass breakups tied for fourth most in a single game during Gary Patterson's 13 seasons as head coach. White added a fumble recovery and four stops.

*Jaden Oberkrom's 21- and 39-yard field goals extended his streak to six consecutive made attempts dating back to last season.

*Oberkrom made all three of his extra-point attempts and is now 45-of-45 in his career. The 45 consecutive PATs rank fourth all-time at TCU.
