Team Notes

*TCU improved to 32-3 when taking the field as a top-10 team under head coach Gary Patterson, including a 21-1 mark as a top-5 team.

*The Horned Frogs are now 96-3 under Patterson when allowing 17 points or less.

*TCU is 2-0 to open the season for the ninth time under Patterson, including the third time in four seasons since joining the Big 12 Conference.

*TCU extended its nation's-best streak to 27 consecutive games with a takeaway.

*Aaron Green's 2-yard scoring run extended TCU's streak to 15 consecutive games with a first-quarter touchdown, tying USC for the national lead.

*TCU's 70 points were the second-most scored in a game in program history. It was just the sixth time TCU eclipsed the 65-point mark in a game.

*TCU has won 14 straight home openers for the nation's fifth-longest active streak.

*The 63-point margin of victory was the third largest in program history and the most since a 69-point win over New Mexico in 2011 (69-0). It was the sixth victory of 60 points or better in program history.

*TCU's 627 yards of total offense marked the 10th time in the Patterson era that the Horned Frogs have eclipsed the 600-yard mark.

*TCU's 757 all-purpose yards in the game were the seventh most in a game during the Patterson era.

*TCU scored for the 282nd consecutive game. It's the nation's second-longest current streak and fourth all-time in NCAA history. The Horned Frogs haven't been blanked since Nov. 16, 1991 at Texas (32-0).

*After posting 15 yards on its opening play, Stephen F. Austin was held to 24 yards on 36 plays the remainder of the first half. Through three quarters, SFA had 79 yards of total offense.

*The attendance of 45,786 marked TCU's 20th sellout in its last 28 home dates.

*Denzel Johnson's third-quarter, 50-yard interception return for a touchdown was TCU's 26th non-offensive touchdown, including 15th pick six, since 2010.

*Five Horned Frogs scored their first collegiate touchdowns: Johnson, Jaelan Austin, Kyle Hicks, Colten Christensen and KaVontae Turpin.

*TCU's team captains were Trevone Boykin, Joey Hunt, Derrick Kindred and Jaden Oberkrom. Dating back to last season, Boykin and Hunt have been captains in the Horned Frogs' last 15 games.

*TCU debuted its gray lizard skin jersey and helmet to go with white pants.

Individual Notes
*Trevone Boykin passed for four touchdowns for the sixth time in his career. He is second on TCU's career list with 60 scoring passes, trailing only Andy Dalton (71, 2007-10).

*Boykin's 60-yard first-quarter touchdown pass to Kolby Listenbee extended his nation's-best streak to 17 consecutive games with a scoring toss.

*Boykin completed 18-of-27 passes for 285 yards.

*Boykin surpassed the 9,000-yard mark in total offense for his career during the first quarter and is the active leader nationally in that statistical category (9,219).

*Listenbee posted his third career 100-yard receiving game with six receptions for 142 yards, including a 60-yard touchdown. He was just shy of a career-best 146 receiving yards at Baylor last season.

*Aaron Green had first-quarter TD runs of 2 and 7 yards. His two rushing scores tied a career high set last season at Kansas.

*KaVontae Turpin scored his first collegiate touchdown on a 6-yard second-quarter scoring grab from Boykin. Turpin totaled three receptions, a carry for 17 yards and a three punt returns for 73 yards.

*Kyle Hicks' 1-yard third-quarter scoring run was his first collegiate touchdown. He finished with 10 carries for 36 yards. It was his most attempts in a game for his career and two yards shy of tying his career high.

*Ja'Juan Story's 9-yard second-quarter scoring reception was his first of the season and third of his career.

*Jaelan Austin's first career touchdown was a 16-yard scoring reception from Bram Kohlhausen. It was Kohlhausen's first career touchdown pass.

*Senior Colten Christensen's first career touchdown came on a fourth quarter 3-yard scamper into the end zone.

*Denzel Johnson's first career interception was returned 50 yards for a touchdown.

*True freshman Montrel Wilson, making his first career start, tied Travin Howard for the team lead with nine tackles.

*Howard had a team-best three tackles for loss.

*Chris Bradley recorded his first sack of the season and second of his career. He also recovered a fumble.

*True freshman Tipa Galeai recorded his first career sack.

*Aaron Curry took part in his first TCU sack, teaming with Terrell Lathan.

*Michael Downing had his first career interception.

*Turpin, Wilson, linebacker Ty Summers and tailback Shaun Nixon made their first career starts.
