Final Stats |
TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson
On the game:
"I am just glad that we won. Last week, you guys said it was an ugly win, but this week I am not sure there is such a thing. I do know this much, we are going to need a better fourth quarter offense if we want to beat the people we want to beat in the next seven weeks.
"But we got 24 points on the board again. We fumbled the ball in the red zone again. We are going to have to hold onto the ball better. We just can't turn the ball over in the red zone."
On Aaron Brown:
"Good running backs tend to run a little bit better when we block for them. We rushed for 201 yards, so that is pretty good. The biggest thing to me is that we keep getting stronger as the year goes on."
On keeping the defense fresh:
"No, we only played 66 snaps on defense. We would just like to be able to put a team away a little bit easier, but you know, I thought, we were better this week than we were last week. We are going to have to be a lot better on the road. There is a difference between the team this week and next week. Next week's team, Wyoming, is 3-1 and they will be playing at home and it will be a conference game. We are going to have to go take the ballgame. They are going to have two weeks off to prepare for us. We need to get ready starting tomorrow. We are going to have to be able to take care of our business."
TCU tailback Aaron Brown
On getting stronger throughout the game:
"I felt I got a little bit stronger. I thought I kept my speed up, and we knew it would get a little easier as the defense wore down in the fourth quarter."
TCU defensive end Chase Ortiz
On the state of the defense:
"Since the (Air Force game), we've preached "finish games out." I don't think we were 100 percent, but we are getting better."
CSU Head Coach Sonny Lubick
"I think TCU has a nice ball club especially on defense. They seemed like they dominated. I think our quarterback did a good job handling all the pressure. We probably played well enough on defense to probably win a game. The way we are playing right now, we have to do everything pretty darn good."
On the final score:
"It could have been a one score game for a lot of the evening, but it wasn't. I still like the way our kids matched up out there, but that gets old after a while."
On alternating running backs:
"We tried to get something going there. Kyle Bell was the mainstay of our running game. But I think when John Mosure went in there you could see a little spark. He hit the hole a little quicker. But besides the running backs, we have to be a lot stronger on the offensive line."
On CSU's injuries:
"We won't know until Monday how that is (in reference to Mike Pagnotta). But they did an X-Ray and I don't think it's broken. You lose him, he's a good player, you lose Klint Kubiak, and he's a good player too."
