Team Notes

*The Horned Frogs have now won 13 in a row, the nation's second-longest active winning streak (Ohio State, 17).

*TCU's 13-game winning streak is its longest since 2010, when its 13-0 season was capped by a Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin.

*TCU is now 35-3 when taking the field as a top-10 team under head coach Gary Patterson, including a 24-1 mark when in the top 5.

*TCU has opened 5-0 for the third time in the last seven seasons and fourth time overall in 15 years under Patterson.

*TCU has defeated Texas in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1958-59.

*Since beginning Big 12 play, the Horned Frogs are now 3-1 against the Longhorns.

*TCU had its best defensive showing in the series since a 6-0 shutout over the No. 1-ranked Longhorns in Austin in 1961.

*For the second straight season, TCU scored the most points in its series history with Texas. The 50 points today topped the 48 scored in the game in Austin last season.

*Trevone Boykin's 13-yard scoring pass to KaVontae Turpin extended TCU's streak to 18 games with a first-quarter touchdown, tying USC for the national lead.

*TCU had two players (Turpin 138, Josh Doctson 129) with 100 yards receiving in the same game for the first time since 2011, when Josh Boyce and Brandon Carter had 163 and 120, respectively.

*TCU's 30 points in the first quarter were its most in a quarter since scoring 31 versus Iowa State in the third quarter last season.

*TCU extended its current school record to four consecutive games with at least 50 points scored.

*The Horned Frogs improved to 97-3 under Patterson when allowing 17 points or less, reaching the defensive mark for the 100th time in Patterson's TCU career.

*After not having a safety since 2010, TCU recorded a safety for a second straight game.

*With 331 yards, TCU had its fourth straight game of topping 300 yards of offense in the first half.

*The Horned Frogs totaled 604 yards of offense, the fourth straight week they've topped the 600 mark.

*TCU scored for the 285th consecutive game. It's the nation's second-longest current streak and fourth all-time in NCAA history. The Horned Frogs haven't been blanked since Nov. 16, 1991 at Texas (32-0).

*The attendance of 48,694 was the second largest in Amon G. Carter Stadium history. TCU had its third sellout in three home games this season. The Horned Frogs have 22 sellouts in their last 30 games.

*TCU's team captains were Trevone Boykin, Joey Hunt, Derrick Kindred and Davion Pierson. Dating back to last season, Boykin and Hunt have been captains in the Horned Frogs' last 18 games.

*TCU wore a purple helmet with a lizard skin jersey and white pants.

Individual Notes

*Trevone Boykin had five touchdown passes. His third one, 49 yards to KaVontae Turpin in the first quarter, was the 72nd of his career to break Andy Dalton's TCU record (71, 2007-10). Boykin is now at 74.

*Boykin's five touchdowns passes tied for second in a single game in TCU history. The school record is seven by Boykin last season versus Texas Tech. He has thrown five touchdown passes in two of the last three games.

*Boykin's 13-yard scoring toss to Turpin extended his nation's-best streak to 20 consecutive games with a touchdown pass.

*Boykin extended his TCU record to nine career games with at least four touchdown passes. It was his third game with at least five scoring tosses.

*Boykin had his 10th career 300-yard passing game, finishing the day with 332 yards.

*Boykin, who ran for 52 yards on seven carries, had his 15th career game with at least 50 yards rushing.

*Doctson's 29-yard touchdown catch from Shaun Nixon was the 23rd of his TCU career, breaking Josh Boyce's TCU career record (22, 2010-12).

*Doctson topped the 100-yard mark in receiving for a third straight game with seven catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

*Doctson had his third straight game with at least two touchdown catches.

*KaVontae Turpin's four touchdown catches are the most by a freshman in Big 12 history. It tied for the most in a game by an FBS player this season and was the highest by a freshman. Turpin finished the day with six catches for 138 yards, both career bests.

*Turpin's four touchdown catches gave him at least one receiving score in three of the last four games.

*Turpin added two carries for 14 yards, a 4-yard punt return and a 26-yard kickoff return to finish with 182 all-purpose yards on the day.

*Tony James had a 7-yard grab for his first career reception.

*True freshman linebacker Montrel Wilson had a career-high 13 tackles, including 11 in the first half. He had 1 1/2 tackles for loss, including a sack.

*Travin Howard had a career-high 12 tackles, including a half-tackle for loss.

*Derrick Kindred forced his second fumble of the season on the opening series for Texas. He had seven tackles in the game.

*Safety Ridwan Issahaku made his first career start and finished with a career-high nine tackles.

*Five of Ethan Perry's six punts were downed inside the Texas 20. He averaged 42.0 yards per attempt.
