Team Notes
*No. 2 Kansas State was the highest-ranked team to play at TCU since No. 2 Texas on Nov. 14, 1970.
 
*The Horned Frogs’ three-game winning streak against top-five ranked opponents came to an end.
 
*TCU dropped to 13-9 against ranked teams under head coach Gary Patterson.
 
*Kansas State’s 260 yards allowed and 12 first downs were the lowest totals by a Big 12 opponent against TCU this season.
 
*Kansas State was held to its lowest point total of the season. Its previous low was in a 24-19 win at Oklahoma.
 
*TCU’s fourth-quarter touchdown were the first points Kansas State allowed off a turnover this season.
 
*The attendance of 47,292 was the fourth-largest crowd in TCU history.
 
*TCU had its fourth sellout in five home games this season. The Horned Frogs have sold out 12 of their last 13 home games and 14 of the past 19.
 
*TCU outgained Kansas State, 274-260, marking the eighth time this season it has totaled more yards than its opponent.

*With a 13-play fourth-quarter drive, TCU had its seventh scoring drive of at least 10 plays in the last five games.
 
*The Horned Frogs scored in their 252nd consecutive game. It’s the third-longest active streak in the nation and eighth in NCAA history. TCU hasn’t been blanked since a 32-0 loss at Texas at Nov. 16, 1991.
 
*TCU did not score first for the first time in its last four contests. The last time a Horned Frog opponent had scored first was in TCU’s 49-21 win at Baylor (Oct. 13).
 
*The Horned Frogs held a 30:16-to-29:44 edge in time of possession. TCU lost for just the seventh time in the last 69 games when leading in time ofpossession.
                                                                                                      
Individual Notes
*TCU linebacker Marcus Mallet became the 21st different Horned Frog to make his first career start this season. Only Hawai’i (26) has more players who have made their first career starts in 2012.
 
*Mallett recorded his first career forced fumble in the fourth quarter. Both his tackles were for losses.
 
*Stansly Maponga recorded two of TCU’s three sacks and recovered his first fumble of the season. Chucky Hunter had TCU's other sack.
 
*Devonte Fields recorded his first career interception to go with a tackle for loss among three stops.
 
*Elisha Olabode led the Frogs with eight tackles, all solo stops. The eight solo tackles were a career high.
 
*Josh Boyce extended his streak to 30 consecutive games with at least one reception. He has at least one catch in 35 of 36 career contests.
 
*Boyce’s six receptions gave him 151 in his career, moving him into fifth place on TCU’s all-time list.
 
*Griffin Gilbert had his first career reception.
 
*Jaden Oberkrom made his 37th straight extra-point attempt on TCU’s fourth-quarter touchdown, tying him with Chris Manfredini (2007) for fourth place on the Horned Frogs’ consecutive single-season PATs made list. Oberkrom’s streak of 37 in a row is seventh all-time at TCU.
