TCU vs. UNLV
Post-Game Quotes
Nov. 17, 2007
Attendance: 26,425
Final: TCU 34, UNLV 10

TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson
Opening Statement
"When you have a quarterback who can run anytime it helps you. You don't have a coverage made up that covers the quarterback. Both Andy (Dalton) and Marcus (Jackson) did a great job of doing that, it really adds another dimension and makes them account for them. That makes it a lot easier to do other things."

On the season winding down
"The last two (home) games, New Mexico and this week, started off well. We are kind of coming into our own a little bit. It's a little bit too late, but we will take it. You have to get to seven (wins). We earned one more tonight, and San Diego State plays a lot better at home."

On the team's defensive performance
"The thing that I like best about tonight was we didn't blitz that much. We were able to play some coverage and get some coverage sacks."

On his team's opening effort
"We came out and were ready to go. We played the way a lot of great programs play."

Linebacker David Hawthorne
On the season coming down to one game
"I think we have to come out to practice and know that it is just one game. We have to keep it calm in our hands and not make it a Super Bowl. We have to execute and have everybody do their job."

On if it's easier to think about just one game, rather than three or four
"It's definitely a positive. We don't have too much to focus on, except for the next opponent. We're going to play and practice as hard as we can just to get this `W.' (Saturday's victory) does simplify it a little bit."

Tailback Joseph Turner
On the importance of TCU's running game
"I believe we're a running team here. When we get the running game going, then we can throw it over their heads."

On controlling the clock
"If you don't control the clock, you're not going to control the game. Some teams are good at what they do when they pass the ball, but that leads to a lot of plays and it wears down a lot of players."
