FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU football program has announced the signing of four-star defensive tackle Tevin Lawson of Denham Springs, La.

Lawson is the Horned Frogs' third signee in 2013 to receive a four-star status from various recruiting services, joining tailback Kyle Hicks (Arlington, Texas) and linebacker Paul Whitmill (Bastrop, Texas).

The signing of Lawson now has TCU's 2013 recruiting class ranked 30th nationally by Rivals.com.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Lawson was ranked by ESPN.com as the nation's No. 6 defensive tackle and the No. 6 overall player in Louisiana. He was selected to the Offense-Defense All-American Game in Houston.

Utilized primarily on the offensive line as a senior, Lawson totaled 77 tackles with five sacks his junior year.

Lawson chose TCU over LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Tennessee and Miami (Fla.).
