MWC Announces TCU's Kickoff Times And TV Schedule
April 7, 2011
FORT WORTH, Texas -- The Mountain West Conference has announced the TCU football team's kickoff times and television schedule for its home games and league slate in the 2011 campaign.
The Horned Frogs will be in their final season in the Mountain West Conference before beginning Big East Conference play in 2012.
A home date with SMU has been moved to Friday, Sept. 30, with a 7 p.m. kickoff on CBS Sports Network. It will be the first of two Friday games for TCU this season. The Horned Frogs will face BYU on Friday, Oct. 28, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. That game will be televised on ESPN.
The SMU game will mark TCU's first Friday contest in Amon G. Carter Stadium since Nov. 23, 2001, when the Horned Frogs recorded a 37-22 victory over No. 17 Louisville. It will also be the second straight year TCU and SMU have played on a Friday. The Horned Frogs won 41-24 last season in Dallas. TCU and SMU last met in a Friday game in Fort Worth in 1999 with the Horned Frogs taking a 21-0 decision.
Eleven of TCU's 12 games will be televised.
TCU will make its debut in a renovated Amon G. Carter Stadium on Sept. 17 when it hosts Louisiana-Monroe at 1 p.m. That will be the first of four home day games for the Horned Frogs.
Outside of SMU, the only other home night game for TCU is a Sept. 24 contest with Portland State at 6 p.m.
TCU's Oct. 22 and Nov. 19 home dates with New Mexico and Colorado State will start at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively. The Dec. 3 regular-season finale with UNLV at Amon G. Carter Stadium will kickoff at 1:30 p.m.
The lone MWC game without a kickoff time set is the league opener Sept. 10 at Air Force. Kickoff will either be at 2:30 or 6:30 p.m. CDT.
