July 19, 2007

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The Gary Patterson Foundation teamed with Jerry's Scoreboard to make a donation to Camp Fire's Diamond Hill Station in Fort Worth.

TCU head football coach Gary Patterson and his wife, Kelsey, personally delivered the sporting equipment to the children at the center.

The sporting equipment will be used during summer and after-school programs operated by Camp Fire. Donated items include footballs, basketballs, soccer balls and goals, and baseball bats and gloves.

"The Foundation's main objective is to enrich the lives of children within our community," Patterson said. "This special delivery put smiles on a lot of faces, including ours. I think we accomplished our objective."

The Gary Patterson Foundation is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization dedicated to the support of economically disadvantaged children as well as other charitable causes. The Foundation will provide funding for programs and scholarships that focus on education, life skills and health and family issues which include violence prevention. Patterson is the founder and chairman.

Camp Fire USA's purpose is to provide opportunities for children and youth, and those who care for them, to realize their potential and become caring, self-directed individuals, responsible to themselves and others.
