FORT WORTH, Texas -- Nearly 200 friends and supporters recently joined TCU football coach Gary Patterson and his wife, Kelsey, for the most succesful fundraiser in the six years of the Gary Patterson Foundation Benefit Reception and Auction.

Held at Joe T. Garcia's Mexican Restaurant in Fort Worth, guests were entertained by musician J.D. Monson while having the opportunity to bid on dozens of auction items.

The event was emceed by Brian Estridge, TCU's director of broadcasting and the Voice of the Frogs. Joining Estridge on stage for the live auction was Patterson and TCU graduate and PGA Tour member J.J. Henry. The trio worked together to sell several high-dollar items that made the event the largest fundraiser in the history of the Foundation.

"This event just keeps getting better and better," Gary Patterson said. "Helping kids in the Fort Worth area means so much to Kelsey and me. To have our friends come out to support this every year in such a big way is very humbling."

All funds raised by the Gary Patterson Foundation support local organizations and programs that provide positive educational, physical fitness and life skills opportunities for economically disadvantaged youth in the Fort Worth and surrounding communities. Already in 2011, the Foundation has awarded 23 grants to organizations such as the Presbyterian Night Shelter, KinderFrogs, Cook Children's Medical Center, Junior Achievement and Communities in Schools of Tarrant County.

"The Gary Patterson Foundation aims to provide youth across our community with the tools to succeed," said Kelsey Patterson, Foundation secretary and treasurer. "It takes a team effort to make a difference, and we are so proud to be associated with great people from Fort Worth who open their hearts to support a cause near and dear to Gary and me."

The event was underwritten by Malcolm and Ann Louden. Other sponsors included Joe T. Garcia's, Jack Daniel's, Courtyard by Marriott and Rent-A-Frog Valet.
