FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU has announced a home-and-home football series with Cal for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

The Horned Frogs will travel to Berkeley to face the Golden Bears on Sept. 5, 2020. Cal will play at TCU on Sept. 11, 2021.

Over the next eight seasons, TCU has non-conference home-and-homes with Minnesota (2014-15), Arkansas (2016-17), Ohio State (2018-19) and Cal (2020-21).

TCU will be facing a Pac-12 opponent for the first time since defeating No. 22 Oregon State, 30-21, in the 2010 Cowboys Classic season opener at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

TCU is 4-0 versus Pac-12 opponents under head coach Gary Patterson, having won 13-10 in overtime at Arizona in 2003 before 38-36 and 31-14 victories over Stanford in the 2007 and 2008 campaigns, respectively.

One of the more significant victories in Patterson's 17 seasons at TCU was a 28-19 win over Pac-12 member USC in the 1998 Sun Bowl. It came in Patterson's first year as the Horned Frogs' defensive coordinator. TCU was 1-10 the previous season.
