FORT WORTH, Texas -- GoFrogs.com concludes its preview of the 2008 TCU football team with a look at the quarterback position.

Andy Dalton (6-3, 210, So.) and Marcus Jackson (6-1, 216, Jr.) both give the Horned Frogs an opportunity to be successful.

As a redshirt freshman in 2007, Dalton set single-season TCU records for completions (222) and attempts (371) while finishing second in passing yards (2,459). His 59.8 completion percentage placed fourth. Dalton threw just two interceptions in his final 96 attempts with one of those picks coming on a Hail Mary. He was the Texas Bowl Most Valuable Player and a Freshman All-American.

A native of Katy, Texas, Dalton became a running threat late in the season. Over the final four games, he led TCU in rushing twice as he averaged 52.5 yards per contest on a 5.0 per carry mark. He ran for five touchdowns on the year with four of the scores coming in the final four contests.

Having a year of experience under his belt should enable Dalton to make his teammates better.

Complementing Dalton is Jackson, who came off the bench to lead the Frogs on touchdown drives in three of his last four games.

Jackson completed 15-of-21 (71.4 percent) passes over his final three contests in 2007. He had just one interception in 69 attempts on the year. The Houston native placed fifth on the Frogs with 187 yards rushing.

Jackson made his collegiate debut in the 2006 season opener when he rallied the Frogs to a 17-7 win at Baylor.

The fall arrival of newcomer Yogi Gallegos (6-1, 192, Fr.) gives TCU three scholarship quarterbacks on its roster. As a senior at Irving High School, Gallegos completed 60.5 percent of his passes for 2,401 yards and 15 touchdowns while adding three scoring runs.
