IRVING, Texas -- TCU's B.J. Catalon has been named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.

Catalon's 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against LSU tied for second longest in TCU history, behind only a 105-yard effort by Charles Casper against Texas in 1933.

A sophomore from Houston, Catalon had the Horned Frogs' first kickoff return for a score since Greg McCoy went 99 yards against UNLV on Dec. 3, 2011. It was the Horned Frogs' first 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown since Cory Rodgers at BYU in 2005.

The 100-yard return came on Catalon's first career attempt and set an AT&T Stadium record for a collegiate game. He totaled 159 yards on four returns as part of 233 all-purpose yards. Catalon had a team-high 52 yards rushing while adding three receptions for 22 yards.

Catalon was also named the National Kickoff Returner of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards.
