ABOUT THE GAME
*No. 20 TCU continues its three-game homestand when it hosts Portland State.
*The Horned Frogs' longtime home of Amon G. Carter Stadium is in the midst of a $143 million renovation. Capacity for the 2011 season is 32,000. After full completion of the renovation in time for the 2012 campaign, Amon G. Carter Stadium will seat 43,000 with the ability to expand to 50,000. Following this season, the east stands, opposite the press box, will be redone and have a double-deck appearance similar to the new north end zone.
*TCU has opened a season with a record of 2-1 or better for the 10th time in Gary Patterson's 11 seasons as head coach.
*Since 2005, the Frogs are 35-1 in day games and 61-4 in Saturday contests. TCU hasn't lost a Saturday home game since the 2004 season finale against Tulane.

MILESTONE WATCH
*Last week's 38-17 win over Louisiana-Monroe gave Gary Patterson his 100th victory as TCU's head coach.
*Patterson is also closing in on Dutch Meyer's all-time record for wins by a TCU head coach. Meyer was 109-79-13 from 1934-52, including leading the Frogs to national championships in 1935 and 1938.

DEFENDING THEIR HOME
*TCU has a school record 21-game home winning streak.
*The streak has tied the Mountain West record held by Utah (21, 2007-10). The Utes' streak was snapped by TCU's 47-7 win last season.
*TCU's 21 straight home wins rank third for the longest current streak in the nation (Oklahoma 37, Boise State 32).
*Under Gary Patterson as head coach, the Frogs have a 52-6 home record.
*Since 1999, TCU is 63-6 in its last 69 home games.
*In their last 11 home dates, the Frogs have allowed just 15 touchdowns and outscored their opponents 490-123 (an average margin of 45-11).
*The Frogs have recorded five shutouts in their past 27 home dates.

THE WIN COLUMN
*TCU has won 29 of its last 31 games and is 40-4 in its last 44 contests.
*Since the start of the 2008 season, TCU is 38-4. The Frogs' 38 wins trail only Boise State (40-2) and Alabama (39-5).
*The Frogs are one of just three teams (Ohio State, Oregon) to play in a BCS game each of the past two campaigns.

YOU AGAIN
*Although Saturday marks the first meeting on the gridiron between TCU and Portland State, the Vikings are no stranger to Frogs' head coach Gary Patterson.
*Patterson faced Portland State twice as an assistant coach.
*As defensive coordinator for Cal Lutheran in 1987, Patterson was on the wrong end of a 40-7 decision.
*In 1991, Patterson was the defensive coordinator at Sonoma State when the Vikings won 35-19.

FAMILY TIES
*Portland State wide receiver Roston Tatum is the son of TCU track and field legends Roscoe Tatum and Lisa Ford Tatum.
*Roscoe Tatum was a two-time NCAA champion and five-time All-American for TCU (1985-88). Tatum ran a 10.08 in the 100 meters and a 6.15 in the 60-yard dash. He was a member of TCU's first two NCAA championship 4x100 meter relay units (1986 and 1987) as well as the fastest 4x200 relay (1:20.20) at the time in NCAA history.
*Lisa Ford Tatum established the TCU women's record in the indoor 55-meter dash with a time of 6.91 seconds. She set TCU indoor and outdoor 200-meter records.
