ABOUT THE GAME
*No. 14 TCU makes the short trek to Dallas to face SMU.
*The Horned Frogs have the nation's longest current winning streak at 11 in a row.
*TCU has not lost since it was defeated, 40-33, in overtime by SMU last season.
*The Frogs are 18-2 in their last 20 road games.
*TCU's Gary Patterson is 8-2 as a head coach versus SMU. As an assistant coach at Navy, New Mexico and TCU, Patterson was 4-2 against the Mustangs.
*The Frogs' senior class has a 39-3 record and needs one victory to reach 40 and a tie for fifth among winningest classes in TCU history.
*The SMU game will mark TCU's 34th contest against a former Southwest Conference rival since the league dissolved after the 1995 season. TCU is 21-12 versus its former SWC foes, including an 11-4 mark against SMU.
*TCU holds a 44-40-7 edge over SMU in a series that began with a 43-0 Frog win in Fort Worth in 1915.
*SMU is TCU's third-most played series. The Frogs' 91 meetings with the Mustangs trail only Baylor (107) and Texas A&M (92).
*TCU has won four of the last five games with the Mustangs and 10 of the past 12.
*The Frogs are 19-22-2 versus SMU in Dallas and 25-18-5 in Fort Worth.
*TCU has won the last two games in Dallas (48-7, 2008; 41-24, 2010).
*Other than the two seasons (1987-88) the Mustangs did not field a team, the 2006 campaign represented the only time TCU and SMU have not met since 1925.
*With TCU staying at its same hotel in Arlington that it does for home games, the distance to SMU on game day will only be 1.6 miles further than it is to Amon G. Carter Stadium.
*TCU will travel 21.4 miles on Saturday from their Arlington hotel to SMU's Ford Stadium. For home games, the distance for the Frogs is 19.8 miles to Amon G. Carter Stadium.
*TCU tight end Griffin Gilbert, one of 15 true freshmen to see action for the Frogs this season, is the younger brother of SMU quarterback Garrett Gilbert.
*TCU co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Rusty Burns was SMU's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2004-07.
*Quarterback Casey Pachall leads the nation in passing efficiency with a 209.9 rating. Pachall has completed 76.1 percent (54-of-71) of his attempts for 841 yards with eight touchdowns and just one interception. Pachall set a TCU record with 16 consecutive completions in a three-game stretch dating back to last season.
*Wide receiver Josh Boyce became TCU's career leader in receiving touchdowns (18) last week.
*Wide receiver Brandon Carter has had back-to-back 100-yard receiving games. He tops the Frogs with 14 receptions for 290 yards and four touchdowns.
*The Frogs lead the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 4.3 points per game.
*TCU has allowed just one touchdown this season and in its last 13 quarters dating back to the 2011 Poinsettia Bowl.
*TCU has just three seniors in its starting lineup, including one on defense.
*The Frogs are tied with LSU and Ohio State for the national lead in most true freshmen (15) seeing action this season.
*TCU has played more true freshmen (15) than it has scholarship seniors (11).
*Gary Patterson is TCU's all-time winningest coach with a 112-30 record. His .789 winning percentage is fourth nationally among active coaches.
