James and Calhoun Earn Weekly TCU Honor
Sept. 28, 2011
In a 55-13 win over Portland State on Saturday, James ran for 136 yards on just 10 carries. On the Horned Frogs' first snap of the second half, the Sherman, Texas, native scored his first touchdown on a 65-yard sprint, which capped off a 28-point outburst over a 2:10 span. Early in the fourth quarter, James returned a kickoff 82 yards and his second score of the day. The 218 all-purpose yards gave him a new career-high.
James and the Frogs look to continue their current three-game winning streak on Saturday at home against SMU in the State Farm DFW Duel for the Iron Skillet. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m. CDT.
Calhoun helped TCU to a win and a tie over the weekend. She scored the Frogs' only goal in a 1-1 tie with Northern Arizona at home on Friday night before collecting another goal and an assist in a 3-0 win at Houston Baptist on Sunday, concluding her five-point weekend. In the latter game, the senior from Norman, Okla., set up Tori Hale for what would be the winning goal just 24 seconds in to set the pace for the Frogs.
Calhoun and TCU hit the field again on Friday night, traveling to UNLV for the conference opener at 9 p.m. CDT.
