ABOUT THE GAME
*Defending Big 12 champion and No. 2 TCU is at Kansas State in a Saturday 6:30 p.m. contest.
*Dating back to last season, TCU's 13-game winning streak ranks second nationally behind Ohio State (18). The Horned Frogs have their longest winning streak since going 13-0 in the 2010 season, capped by a Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin.
*TCU's Gary Patterson will be facing his alma mater for the fourth time as a head coach. He is 1-2 with all three meetings taking place since TCU began Big 12 play in 2012.
*Patterson is a 1983 graduate of K-State and a former safety and linebacker for the Wildcats.
*Saturday features the two winningest coaches at their respective schools in Patterson (137) and K-State's Bill Snyder (190). Patterson and Snyder are two of just five active head coaches nationally with 135 wins at their current school.
*TCU is 35-3 as a top-10 team under Patterson, including 24-1 when in the top 5.
*TCU has opened 5-0 for the third time in the last seven years and fourth time overall in 15 seasons under Patterson.
*Since 2009, TCU has the nation's third-best road record (27-7, .794).
*TCU's 32-10 record (.762) in road and neutral-site games since 2009 is the third-best mark nationally.
*The Horned Frogs are 9-6 on the road in their Big 12 history.
*TCU has won 21 of its last 27 conference road games.
*TCU and Kansas State are meeting for just the ninth time in their history with the series tied at 4-4.
*The Horned Frogs are 1-3 against the Wildcats in Manhattan and 3-1 in Fort Worth.
*TCU's only previous win in Manhattan was a 24-22 decision in 1985.
*Prior to TCU beginning Big 12 play in 2012, the schools had not met on the gridiron since 1986.
*Last year's 41-20 win was TCU's first victory over K-State in three Big 12 meetings.
*The first game in the series was a 45-0 K-State victory in Manhattan in 1922.
*After that initital game, the schools did not play again until meeting in four consecutive seasons from 1983-86.
