TCU Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week

FORT WORTH, TexasMindy Miles of rifle and Montrel Wilson of football earn this week’s title as TCU’s Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week based on impressive performances.

The Weatherford, Texas native led the Horned Frogs rifle team to a season-opening victory at the Tiger Open hosted by Memphis. Miles fired a match-best 598 to win the individual title.

Miles' 598 score matches only three other team members in program history who have fired a 598 or better. Miles' score contributed to a team aggregate 4,696 to beat Memphis and Ole Miss over the weekend.

The Frogs return to action on Sunday, Oct. 11th at the Citadel.

Freshman linebacker Montrel Wilson helped lead the No. 2 Horned Frogs to a 50-7 blowout over Texas on homecoming weekend. Wilson continues to step up for a TCU defense that is coming into its own after an impactful performance this weekend.

Wilson led the defensive effort with 13 tackles, five unassisted, and one sack on the day.

The No. 2 Horned Frogs moved to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in Big 12 play. The Frogs will travel to Manhattan, Kan. to take on Kansas State at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10th.
