ABOUT THE GAME
*TCU hosts West Virginia on Saturday in a 2:30 p.m. contest on ESPNU.
*The Mountaineers are making their first appearance in Fort Worth.
*The game features a match-up of the two schools who entered the Big 12 together in 2012.
*TCU is playing its second season in Amon G. Carter Stadium after its $164 million rebuild.
*With last year's 39-38 double-overtime victory in Morgantown, TCU's Gary Patterson is 1-0 as a head coach versus West Virginia.
*TCU is 27-9 in regular-season games following a loss under Patterson.
*TCU is 3-1 at home this season.
*The Horned Frogs have never lost three in a row with Patterson as head coach.
*After hosting Texas last week, the Horned Frogs are playing consecutive games at home for the first time since the 2011 campaign.

SERIES NOTES
*TCU and West Virginia are facing each other for just the third time in their history.
*The Horned Frogs' 39-38 double-overtime victory over the Mountaineers last season marked the first regular-season game between the teams.
*TCU and West Virginia first met in the 1984 Bluebonnet Bowl in Houston with the Mountaineers taking a 31-14 decision on New Year's Eve in the Astrodome.
*TCU tight ends coach and special teams coordinator Dan Sharp had three receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown for the Horned Frogs against West Virginia in the 1984 Bluebonnet Bowl.

BLOCK THAT KICK
*TCU All-America cornerback Jason Verrett has shown the ability to also excel in other phases of the game.
*Verrett had the game-saving block of West Virginia's 36-yard field-goal attempt in the first overtime last season to set the stage for the Horned Frogs to win in the second OT.

COMEBACKS
*Last season's 39-38 double-overtime victory at West Virginia marked TCU's first win when trailing at the half (21-14) since a 14-10 victory at Clemson in 2009.

HOME SWEET HOME
*TCU has won 31 of its last 37 home games and is 61-12 under Gary Patterson at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
*In its last 26 home dates, TCU has allowed just 50 touchdowns and outscored its opponents 1,043-422 (an average margin of 40-16).
*The Horned Frogs have recorded seven shutouts in their past 43 home dates.

TCU NOTABLES
*TCU has just 10 scholarship seniors on this year's roster.
*Over 40 percent of TCU players who have seen action this season are sophomores.
*All four of TCU's losses to top-20 teams this season have seen it with a chance to win. Against both LSU and Oklahoma, the Horned Frogs had the ball with an opportunity to take the lead in the fourth quarter. TCU and Texas Tech were tied with less than four minutes to play. TCU trailed Oklahoma State by seven points midway through the fourth quarter.
*TCU is on pace to become the first Big 12 team since 1996 (Nebraska) to lead the conference in both sacks and interceptions. The Horned Frogs have a Big 12-leading 24 sacks and 15 picks.
*TCU has held 13 of its last 14 opponents to a less than 60 percent completion percentage. The mark is 47.1 percent over the last three games.
*Since 2012, All-America cornerback Jason Verrett leads the nation with 36 passes defended (8 interceptions, 28 pass breakups).
*Verrett is a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award and a quarterfinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
*Preseason All-Big 12 quarterback Casey Pachall returned to action last week after being sidelined since Sept. 7 due to injury.
