*Patterson is a 1983 graduate of K-State and a former safety and linebacker for the Wildcats.
*TCU has a 25-3 record when taking the field as a top-10 team under Patterson.
*TCU is facing a top-25 opponent, including three in the top 10, for the fifth time in its last six games.
*K-State is the only Big 12 member TCU has not defeated since it began conference play in 2012.
*The Horned Frogs have opened with a record of 7-1 or better for the fourth time in the last seven seasons and seventh time in 14 years under Patterson.
*Saturday features the two winningest coaches at their respective schools in Patterson (127) and K-State's Bill Snyder (185). Patterson and Snyder are two of just six active head coaches nationally with 100 wins at their current school.
*The Horned Frogs are 66-14 under Patterson at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
*TCU is playing its third season in Amon G. Carter Stadium after its $164 million rebuild.

*TCU and Kansas State are meeting for just the eighth time in their history with the Wildcats holding a 4-3 lead.
*The Horned Frogs are 2-1 against K-State in Fort Worth and 1-3 against the Wildcats in Manhattan.
*Prior to TCU beginning Big 12 play in 2012, the schools had not met on the gridiron since 1986.
*The Horned Frogs had a three-game winning streak in the series prior to K-State winning both contests with the schools as Big 12 rivals.
*The first meeting in the series was a 45-0 K-State victory in Manhattan in 1922.
*After that initital game, the schools did not play again until meeting in four consecutive seasons from 1983-86.

*Kansas State won last year's game with TCU, 33-31, on a 41-yard Jack Cantele field goal with 3 seconds left. The Horned Frogs had taken a 31-30 lead on a 56-yard Jaden Oberkrom field goal with 2:13 remaining.
*In 2012, TCU held the No. 2 Wildcats to just 260 yards of offense in a 23-10 loss in Fort Worth.

*TCU football coach Gary Patterson was born in Larned, Kan., and is a native of Rozel, Kan.
*Patterson went to Pawnee Heights High School and then Dodge City Community College, before heading to Kansas State.

*Under new co-coordinators Doug Meacham and Sonny Cumbie, TCU has the nation's most improved offense in both total yards (+205.2 ypg) and scoring (+22.9 ppg) from last season. The 22.9 increase in scoring is on pace to set a Big 12 record.
