IRVING, Texas -- The Big 12 Conference has announced TCU linebacker Travin Howard as its Defensive Player of the Week following the Horned Frogs' 62-22 win at Baylor.

Howard keyed a TCU defense that limited Baylor to 133 yards rushing after it entered the game No. 1 in the Big 12 and No. 4 nationally with an average of 299.3 per contest. The Bears were also held to 5-of-20 on third-down conversions.

Howard led TCU with 12 tackles for his sixth straight game in double figures. He also had a pass breakup and quarterback hurry. Howard has a Big 12-leading 100 stops on the season. The junior from Longview, Texas, tops the Big 12 and is fourth nationally with his average of 11.1 tackles per game.
