CHICAGO -- TCU graduate student Josh Carraway has been named to the Midseason Watch List for the Ted Hendricks Award, presented to the nation’s best defensive end.

Carraway tops the Horned Frogs with 6 1/2 sacks and 9 1/2 tackles for loss. He is third in the Big 12 in TFLs and fourth in sacks. His 38 tackles are tied for the lead among TCU defensive linemen.

A native of Flower Mound, Texas, Carraway was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after the win at Kansas. All three of his sacks came in the fourth quarter, including back-to-back snaps on KU’s final drive. The three sacks were the most by a Horned Frog since 2012. Carraway’s four tackles for loss marked the highest total by a TCU player since 2014. His eight tackles tied a career high.

Carraway ranks second among active Big 12 players with 17 1/2 career sacks, a total that places eighth on TCU’s all-time list.

TCU’s Jerry Hughes, a two-time consensus first-team All-American now with the Buffalo Bills, was the 2009 Ted Hendricks Award recipient.
