ABOUT THE GAME
*TCU will play on Thanksgiving Day for the first time since 1928 when it travels to Austin to face No. 16 Texas.
*The Horned Frogs and Longhorns will be meeting for the first time since 2007 and just the second time since the dissolution of the Southwest Conference after the 1995 campaign.
*TCU's last Thanksgiving Day appearance was a 15-6 win at SMU on Nov. 29, 1928.
*The Frogs are 3-1 on the road in Big 12 play this season.
*TCU's 23-3 record (.885) in road and neutral-site games since 2009 is the third-best mark nationally.
*As TCU's head coach, Gary Patterson is 13-9 against ranked teams.
*The Frogs top the Big 12 in run defense (98.4 ypg), total defense (326.3 ypg), third-down defense (28.2 percent) and fewest first downs allowed per game (16.4).
*TCU is 23-8 in regular-season games following a loss under Patterson.
*Since 2005, TCU has the nation's best record (47-1, .979) when ahead in turnover margin. TCU has 16 takeaways in its last four road games.
*Thursday marks the 150th game as TCU's head coach for Patterson, already the Frogs' all-time winningest coach with 115 victories.
*TCU has won 599 games in its football history and needs one more victory for 600.

SERIES NOTES
*Thursday marks the 83rd meeting between TCU and Texas with the Longhorns holding a 61-20-1 series edge.
*TCU is 11-34-1 versus Texas in Austin and 9-27-0 in Fort Worth.
*Texas has won the last four games with TCU and 28 of the past 29. The Frogs' lone win in that stretch was a 23-14 victory in Fort Worth in 1992.
*Since winning 24-17 in 1967, TCU has dropped its last 15 contests in Austin.
*Texas is TCU's fourth-most played series. The Frogs' 82 games with the Longhorns trail only Baylor (108), SMU (92) and Texas A&M (92).

THE LAST MEETING
*TCU's last visit to Austin was on Sept. 8, 2007 with the No. 7 Longhorns taking a 34-13 victory over the 19th-ranked Frogs.
*Redshirt freshman quarterback Andy Dalton made just his second collegiate start for TCU. The Frogs led 10-0 at the half and the game was tied 10-10 after three quarters, before the Longhorns pulled away for the victory.

REMEMBER WHEN?
*One of the more memorable wins in TCU football history was a 6-0 victory at No. 1 Texas on Nov. 8, 1961.
*The lone score in the game was a second-quarter touchdown pass from quarterback Sonny Gibbs to Buddy Iles. Gibbs handed the ball to halfback Larry Thomas, who tossed it back to Gibbs who then found Iles downfield for the score.

*TCU is fourth nationally with 21 players making their first career starts this season.
*Linebacker Kenny Cain is the lone senior to start on defense and see playing time on that side of the ball.
