Frog senior enters final day only one shot off lead
Greg Holmes competed in two tournaments for TCU as a freshman ... tied for 67th place at the Boilermaker Invitational ... posted his top competition round with a 2-over-par 74 in the first round of the Barona Collegiate Cup.
Holmes played in several events on the Future Collegians World Tour in 2010-11, logging 11 top-10 finishes, six top-3 results and a pair of victories in 11 events ... was the Order of Merit point leader for the season ... posted victories at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course tournament in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., (Jan. 1-2) and at an event held at The Golf Club at Bridgewater in Lakeland, Fla. (April 2-3) ... tied for third place at the Boys 16-18 National Championship held May 28-39 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. ... his performance on the FCWT helped earn him First-Team All-America honors and the "For the Good of the Game" award ... finished runner up at the 2010 International Junior Masters in Buffalo, N.Y. ... tied for 10th place at the 2010 Optimist International Junior Championship in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. ... won the 2010 Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club championship.
Holmes arrived at TCU from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where he attended Hillcrest High School ... finished runner up at the Ottawa city championship as a junior and senior in addition to advancing to the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) golf championship both years ... was named team MVP as a sophomore and junior ... won the Ottawa Eastern Regional title as a sophomore.

Holmes is the son of Bill and Maureen Holmes ... father, Bill, played college basketball at Carleton University in Ottawa and is in the school's sports hall of fame ... majoring in business.
