Ian Phillips played as TCU's fifth man for much of his sophomore season, appearing in 10 tournaments, three in the fall and seven in the spring ... finished par or better in three rounds ... earned his top finish by tying for 26th place at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate in Austin, Texas, with a 7-over-par total of 220 ... followed the performance with his best effort vs. par, finishing +5 while earning a share of 56th place at the Barona Collegiate Cup ... posted the best individual round of his career with a 67 in the opening 18 at Barona ... was the Frogs' fourth finisher in his first career appearance at the NCAA Championship held at The Riviera County Club.
Phillips was not selected for competition in his first season with the Horned Frogs.
