Barrett Leads TCU in Second Day in Hawaii

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - The TCU men's golf team carded a 4-under 284 in the second round of the Amer Ari Invitational at the Waikoloa Kings' Course on Friday to enter the final round tied for seventh spot.
The Horned Frogs are currently tied at 20-under with No. 2 Georgia Tech and No. 16 Texas and are just four strokes off of third spot and eight strokes behind the tournament leader, third-ranked Oklahoma State.
Freshman Chelso Barrett continued his stellar play on Friday, firing a 4-under 68 after his opening-day 66 to enter the final round sitting in a tie for fifth at 10-under. The Keene, N.H., native, who stroked four birdies in the second round and has just one bogey in 36 holes, is just two strokes off of the leader.
Junior standout Julien Brun put together a very consistent round with an even-par 72 to wrap up the second day in a tie for 25th overall at five-under. Brun's only blemish of the day was a bogey on his second hole, and he would go on to birdie the par-5 18th.
Sophomore Paul Barjon had several ups and downs in his second round en route to a 1-over 73 to end the afternoon in a tie for 46th overall. Following a triple bogey on the par-4 16th, Barjon posted birdies on three of the next four holes but ended the day with bogeys on two of the final three holes.
Sarosh Adi registered the second-lowest round of the day with a 1-under 71, matching his career low set on Feb. 28, 2012. The Plano, Texas, native was consistent throughout most of the round with two birdies and just one bogey.
Following an opening-round 70, freshman Giulio Castagnara carded a 4-over 76, struggling through the opening 14 holes before sinking two birdies on the final four.
