LA QUINTA, Calif.—TCU finished off the opening portion of its two-tournament road trip Wednesday with a seventh-place finish at The Prestige at PGA WEST held at PGA WEST’s Greg Norman Course. Sophomore Julien Brun earned a share of seventh place to lead all Horned Frogs on the individual leaderboard.

The Frogs regrouped from a difficult Tuesday showing that saw the squad fall from first place all the way into eighth in windy conditions at PGA WEST. The squad posted a 3-over-par 287 Wednesday to finish with a final team total of +17. USC and Washington tied atop the team standings at -1 overall, with the Huskies taking top honors on a scorecard playoff.

Brun experienced an interesting final round, playing the first three holes at 7-over before rallying to save his round. He played the final 15 holes at 4-under for a final-round total of 3-over 74, helping him claim his 12th career top-10 finish in 18 career events as a Frog.

Senior Daniel Jennevret concluded play with a share of 25th place at +5 following a final-round 72, while fellow senior Pontus Gad posted TCU’s low score of the day of 70 to climb into a tie for 27th place at +6. Senior Eli Cole joined Jennevret in firing 72 to finish tied for 51st (+11). Freshman Paul Barjon, who played his worst round so far as a Frog on Tuesday, regrouped on Wednesday with a par 71 to finish tied for 78th.

Also playing this week as an individual entry was freshman Michael Culin, who placed 73rd (+18).

UCLA’s Pedro Figueiredo won top individual honors with an overall 8-under total of 205, five shots ahead of a three-man group in second place.

TCU concludes its week on the west coast with the Desert Intercollegiate, which will be played Friday through Sunday at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
