PALM DESERT, Calif.—TCU extended its lead on the team leaderboard to double digits Saturday with another solid performance during Round 2 of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at The Classic Club. Four Horned Frogs currently sit among the field’s top-5 individual golfers.

TCU posted the top team total of the day with an even-par 288 to stay at -11 overall. The squad leads second-place Texas Tech by 11 strokes in a bid for its first tournament title of the season. Including the 13th-ranked Frogs, the field includes four teams currently ranked among the top 50 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin national ratings.

Sophomore Julien Brun retained a share of the top spot on the individual leaderboard, firing a 1-under 71 Saturday to sit alongside Jonathan De Los (St. Mary’s) and Finley Ewing (Texas Tech) at -5 overall. Brun recorded his second eagle of the weekend on the par-5 fourth hole and has now played par golf or better in 11 of 14 rounds this season.

Joining Brun near the top of the individual standings are three Frogs in a four-way tie for fifth place at -2 overall in seniors Eli Cole and Pontus Gad and freshman Paul Barjon. Barjon and Gad both carded even-par rounds of 72 Saturday, while Cole fired a 1-over 73.

Senior Daniel Jennevret sits just outside the top 10 in a tie for 13th place at +1. He posted a 3-over 75 Saturday. Freshman Michael Culin, who is competing this week as an individual entry, also recorded a 75 to climb into a tie for 40th place at +6.

TCU wraps up its week on the west coast with the final round of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on Sunday. Competition begins with tee times at 8 a.m. PST.
