TCU Third After 18 in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – After 18 holes, the TCU men’s golf team is in third place at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nev.

In another loaded field that features seven of the top 25 teams in the nation, the Frogs shot 1-under 287. TCU is two shots back of UNLV and five shots back of the leader, No. 5 Florida. TCU leads No. 4 Alabama, No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 10 Texas Tech, No. 14 Illinois and No. 21 UCLA.

Juniors Pierre Mazier and Stefano Mazzoli paced the Frogs on Monday by shooting 2-under 70 to finish tied for ninth. For Mazzoli, it was his fourth-straight round under par.

Junior Turner MacLean is tied for 23rd at even-par 72. Junior Triston Fisher is tied for 47th at 3-over 75.

The Frogs will begin the second round Tuesday morning.
