Men's Golf Moves Into Tie For Sixth in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The TCU golf team grabbed a share of sixth place the Las Vegas Collegiate over the weekend thanks to a strong final round on Sunday. TCU began the day in ninth place, but shot an even-par 288 to move up the ranks.

Freshman J.J. Killeen was TCU's top finisher, earning a tie for 19th place individually. He shot his first over-par round of the tournament on Sunday with a 75, but finished with a solid three-day score of 218 (+2).

Andy Doeden sizzled on the final day, shooting a three-under 69. It was the Frogs' best round of the tournament, and propelled him into a tie for 27th with a 54-hole sum of 219. It was the first time he placed out of the top 20 this season.

Bret Guetz shot a final-round 74 and landed in a tie for 36th place with a 221. Steve Shuert shot a 73 on day three to hang on to the 39th spot. Adam Rubinson (T-45th, 225) was TCU's final player.

Top-ranked Georgia Tech claimed the tournament title with a 20-under par score of 844. Four of the nation's top five teams competed at the Las Vegas Collegiate.
