SAN DIEGO--TCU concluded competition at the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic in a tie for second place Tuesday, three strokes behind team champion San Diego State at San Diego Country Club. Three Horned Frogs finished among the top 10 on the individual leaderboard.

TCU posted a 2-over-par 290 in the final round to finish at +3 overall, three strokes behind the Aztecs, who won their hometown tournament title with an even-par total of 864. The Frogs shared runner-up honors with Arizona State and have now finished third place or better in four of five spring tournaments.

Sophomore All-American Julien Brun paced TCU on the individual leaderboard, earning a share of eighth place with an even-par overall total of 216. He fired a 1-over 73 in Tuesday's final round to finish seven strokes back of individual champion John Rahm (Arizona State), a product of Spain who ranks among the world's top-60 amateur golfers. Brun has now placed in the top 10 in five of seven tournaments this season.

Joining Brun among the top 10 were seniors Eli Cole and Pontus Gad, who shared 10th place with 1-over totals of 217. Gad recorded the top round of the day for a Frog with his 1-under 71 to climb three spots after entering the day in 13th place. The result marked Gad's fourth career top-10 finish and second of the season. Cole carded a 2-over 74 Tuesday for his fourth top-10 placing this year and fifth of his career.

Fellow senior Daniel Jennevret finished just outside the top 10 in a tie for 13th place at +3 overall, while freshman Paul Barjon shared 25th place with seven other golfers at +6.

TCU continues its spring campaign this weekend when it travels to Tucson, Ariz., for the National Invitational Tournament. Three rounds will be played Saturday through Sunday at Tucson National Golf Club.
