Barjon Shares Lead at U.S. Intercollegiate

March 29, 2013

STANFORD, Calif.--Freshman Paul Barjon will enter the final round of the U.S. Intercollegiate with a share of the individual lead following a second-straight outstanding round Friday at Stanford Golf Course.

Barjon matched his career-low round with a 4-under 66 for the second consecutive day to move to -8, which is good for a tie atop the individual leaderboard alongside Stanford All-American Patrick Rodgers, who also shot 66 Friday. A native of Noumea Cedex, New Caledonia, Barjon totaled seven birdies against only three bogeys for his third consecutive sub-70 round dating back to the final day of the National Invitational Tournament two weeks ago in Tucson, Ariz.

Barjon's efforts have lifted the Horned Frogs into sole possession of second place on the team leaderboard at -6, 11 strokes behind tournament host Stanford, which is playing this weekend on its home course. TCU currently sits five strokes ahead of both St. Mary's (Calif.) and San Francisco, who are tied for third.

Sophomore Julien Brun shook off a rough opening round to climb into a tie for 33rd place at +3 following an even-par 70 Friday. He currently shares the position with senior teammates Eli Cole and Daniel Jennevret, who carded respective individual scores of 71 and 73 in Round 2.

TCU concludes competition at the U.S. Intercollegiate on Saturday. Groups will begin teeing off from holes 1 and 10 at 8 a.m. PDT.
