AUSTIN, Texas—TCU finished the final round of the Morris Williams Intercollegiate in third place Sunday at the University of Texas Golf Course. The event marked the Horned Frogs’ final full tournament tune-up prior to the Big 12 Championship.

TCU, which entered Sunday in a three-way tie atop the team leaderboard alongside Texas and New Mexico, totaled an 8-over par score of 292 in a breezy final round to finish at +2 overall, six shots off the lead. UT was victorious on its home course, posting a 2-over 286 to win by five shots over runner-up Texas Tech (+1). Sunday’s windy conditions proved difficult for the entire field, as none of the 12 squads played under par in the final round.

TCU’s lofty finish marked its seventh top-3 performance in eight spring tournaments.

Sophomore Julien Brun paced the Frogs on the individual leaderboard, finishing third place overall at -5. He led the field following each of the first two rounds and held a four-stroke advantage heading into Sunday before firing a 3-over 74 to drop into third. Texas Tech’s Finley Ewing IV recorded the low score of the day of 68 to take top medalist honors at -7 overall, while Oklahoma State’s Jordan Niebrugge finished runner-up at -6.

Senior Eli Cole finished in sole possession of 13th place at +2 overall following a final-round 75. Senior Pontus Gad recorded TCU’s low score of the day with an even-par 71 to climb into a share of 14th place (+3) after entering the day in 32nd. Senior Daniel Jennevret (+4) also notched a top-20 finish, tying for 19th. Sophomore Sarosh Adi finished off a successful tournament filling in for lineup regular Paul Barjon, as he grabbed a share of 36th at +7 overall. Adi fired a 2-over 73 Sunday to count toward TCU’s team total.

TCU travels to Atlanta on Friday for one final tune-up for the Big 12 Championship, as it takes on Georgia Tech in a dual match at Capital City Club, host of this year’s NCAA Championship in late May.
