Three Frogs Finish Top 10 at Big 12's

HUTCHINSON, Kan.--TCU wrapped up its first appearance at the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship with a fourth-place team finish Wednesday following the final round of play at Prairie Dunes Country Club.

The Horned Frogs, who entered the final round in third place and seven strokes back of team leader Texas, totaled a 13-over-par 293 Wednesday to finish at +31 overall. Texas (+19) claimed the conference championship by four shots over runner-up Oklahoma State (+23). Oklahoma (+29) recorded the top round of the day, playing even-par golf to sneak past the Frogs into third place.

TCU's showing extended the squad's streak of top-5 finishes at conference tournaments to eight straight years.

Three Frogs finished among the top 10 on the individual leaderboard. Senior Daniel Jennevret led the way with a share of fifth place (+6) following a 4-over-74 on Wednesday. Jennevret's result marked his first top-10 finish in four career attempts at a conference championship. Sophomore Julien Brun followed one stroke behind Jennevret in a tie for seventh place (+7) after carding a final-round 72.

Joining the leaderboard's top 10 was senior Pontus Gad, who earned a share of 10th place at +8 overall following a 73 in his final round. Like Jennevret, Gad notched the first top-10 individual conference effort of his career.

Sophomore Sarosh Adi, playing this week in place of injured lineup regular Paul Barjon, concluded TCU's Wednesday scoring with a final-round 74. The score helped him climb into sole possession of 30th place (+17) after entering the day tied for 35th. Senior Eli Cole slid into a share of 25th on the final leaderboard at +15 overall after firing a 79 in his final round.

TCU will now await word of an expected at-large bid to the NCAA Regional Championships, which will be played May 16 through 18 at six different national sites. The NCAA Regional field will be announced Monday, May 6 at 8 p.m. on TCU owns an active streak of 23 straight NCAA Regional bids, which ranks among the nation's longest figures.
