TCU Finishes 10th at NCAA Championship
June 1, 2015
BRADENTON, Fla. - The TCU men's golf team ended its season on Monday in the fourth round of the NCAA Championship at The Concession Golf Club, earning a 10th-place finish for the program's fourth top-10 showing all-time.
The Horned Frogs carded an 11-over 299 on their final trip through the course, missing the match play portion of the NCAA Championship by seven strokes. TCU began the day in 10th and came as close as four strokes from the cutline before play was halted on the back nine due to lightning. TCU, which entered the tournament as the No. 23 seed, earned its fourth top-10 finish in program history at the NCAA Championship and the first since 2009.
Senior Andrew Presley closed his collegiate career in strong fashion, carding a 2-under 70 to finish seventh overall at 3-under. The Fort Worth native becomes just the seventh Horned Frog all-time to finish in the top 10 at the NCAA Championship. Presley made the turn at 1-over before rolling in three birdies with no miscues on the final nine holes.
Fellow senior Julien Brun ended his storied TCU career with a 2-over 74 to place 29th overall at 5-over. The three-time First-Team All-American posted his 14th-career round of par or better in NCAA play with Sunday's 2-under 70.
