Jennevret Holds Tournament Lead; Frogs Move into First Place

LA QUINTA, CALIF. - The TCU men's golf program moved up four spots and holds the tournament lead as the Frogs posted a 3-under-par score of 285 on Monday at The Prestige at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif.

The Frogs will enter the third round of action in sole possession of first place as TCU notched a team score of 2-under-par 574 (289-285). With the Frogs in first place, Stanford (578), UCLA (579), USC (581) and Washington (582) round out the top-five.

TCU newcomer Daniel Jennevret (Sandviken, Sweden | Bessemer Sandviken) posted a tournament-best 5-under-par 67 in the second round of action. Jennevret - who entered the round in third place - posted an 8-under-par score of 136 over 36 holes and holds a four stroke lead over Pedro Figueiredo of UCLA and Stanford's Sihwan Kim.

Sophomore Eli Cole (Beverly Hills, Calif. | Harvard-Westlake H.S.) posted a 3-under-par score of 69 en route and finished the second day of action with a tournament tally of 143 (74-69) and is tied for eighth overall. Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas | Paschal H.S.) finished the day with a score of 75 and is tied for 23rd-place with a tournament score of 147 (72-75).

Johan de Beer (Pretoria, South Africa | Pretoria Boys H.S.) - who is competing as an individual - collected a second day tally of 73 and sits in fourth place with a total score of 141 (68-73).

Scott Roudebush (Austin, Texas | Austin H.S.) finished the day tied for 32nd place with a two-day score of 149 (74-75). Tom Hoge (Fargo, N.D. | Fargo South H.S.) and Pontus Gad (Linkoping, Sweden | Klippans Gymasieskola) are both tied for 46th overall with a score of 152 over the first two rounds of action.

 

 

The third and final round of The Prestige at PGA West will be held on Tuesday at the Stadium Course at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif.
