TAMPA, Fla. - The sixth-rated TCU men's golf team recorded a solid third-place finish at the Cleveland Golf/Gary Koch Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The Horned Frogs began the day owning a share of fourth place, but moved into the bronze position after a two-over-par 290 in the final round. TCU (860) finished behind only seventh-ranked Georgia Tech (842) and No. 1 Florida (857) in the 54-hole tournament.

Senior Adam Meyer tied for third place individually with a three-round score of 209 (-6). Meyer tallied an even-par 72 in the final round after opening with a 68 and a 69. The third-place finish was the best by a TCU golfer this year and the highest finish for Meyer since he took second at the 2003 Conference USA Championships. The native of Waco, Texas, finished four strokes behind the tourney's medalist, Matt Every of Florida.

Colby Beckstrom (212) continued his impressive fall play with an eighth-place landing. The sophomore now has placed fifth, eighth and 11th in the Frogs' three fall tournaments. The top-10 placement was Beckstrom's fourth of his career. He posted rounds of 66-74-72 in the tournament. The native of North Muskegon, Mich., entered the tournament as the 10th-rated collegiate golfer according the the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.

Junior J.J. Killeen moved up the leaderboard 21 spots on the final day after a team-best score of 71 (-1). The Lubbock, Texas, product had a 220 (+4) for the tournament to claim a share of 27th.

Sophomore Drew Pigg also made a push on the final day after a three-over 75 in the last round. Pigg, who hails from Plano, Texas, had a 10-over total of 226 to share 46th overall. Meanwhile, fellow sophomore Jeff Marcinowski, playing in his first collegiate tournament, tied for 55th. He scored a 77 (+5) in the final round.



TCU now has finished in the top three in two of the three tournaments this season and in nine of the 16 events since the start of the 2002-03 campaign. The Horned Frogs complete their fall schedule at the Prestige at PGA West in LaQuinta, Calif., on Nov. 3-4.
