Brun Leads Surge in Day Two at Isleworth

WINDERMERE, Fla. - Junior standout Julien Brun carded a 4-under 68 as the TCU men's golf team moved three spots into a tie for ninth place in Monday's second round at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational.
Behind Brun's outing, TCU shot a 2-over 290, tying for the lowest round by the Horned Frogs in four previous outings at the Isleworth Golf and Country Club. TCU enters Tuesday's final round just seven strokes out of seventh spot while currently ahead or tied with six programs ranked in the top 35.
Brun got off to a quick start on Monday, posting the first of three birdies on the front nine on the opening hole with the lone blemish coming at the par-4 18th. Brun was flawless on the back nine with two more birdies to secure his lowest round of the season as well as his lowest score in seven previous rounds at Isleworth.
The Antibes, France, native enters Tuesday's final round in a tie for fourth spot overall at 4-under and is three strokes behind the next closest competitor as he looks for his second top-five finish of the season and the 20th top-10 finish of his career.
Fellow junior Sarosh Adi also played a pivotal role in the Frogs' success on Monday, shooting an even-par 72 for the second-lowest round of his career. The Frisco, Texas, product sits at 5-over for the tournament in a tie for 47th overall.
After leading TCU with a 2-under 70 in the opening round, freshman Chelso Barrett carded a 75 on Monday to place 27th overall, while fellow newcomer Giulio Castagnara trimmed three strokes off of his opening-round score with a 75.
