FORT WORTH—The TCU men's golf team returns to action this weekend with its only in-state tournament of the season at the two-day, 54-hole Morris Williams Intercollegiate in Austin.

The event will be played at University of Texas Golf Club, a par-71, 7,412-yard course. The Horned Frogs, who enter the weekend ranked No. 36 in the country, will play two 18-hole rounds on Friday before finishing off the event Saturday with the final round.

Participating schools include TCU, College of Charleston, New Mexico, North Texas, Sam Houston State, St. John's, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UT-Arlington, Utah, and Wake Forest. The host Longhorns are currently the nation's top-ranked team according to the latest Golfweek/Sagarin ratings, while the Aggies are 14th. New Mexico (20th), Texas Tech (43rd), North Texas (44th) and Wake Forest (47th) join TCU as top-50 squads competing in the field.

Filling out the Horned Frog lineup this season will be freshman Julien Brun, senior Johan de Beer, juniors Daniel Jennevret and Pontus Gad and sophomore Ian Phillips.

Brun is ranked No. 11 nationally entering the weekend, and he will be joined in the field by two of the nation’s other top golfers in Texas’ Jordan Spieth and Dylan Frittelli, who are ranked No. 1 and 2. Brun enters the weekend third in the Mountain West this season with a 71.24 stroke average, while Jennevret and De Beer are 16th (72.9) and 18th (73.05), respectively.

The Horned Frogs are coming off a 12th-place performance at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters in Las Vegas this past weekend. TCU finished ahead of one ranked team in Texas Tech and was led individually by de Beer, who placed 15th.

TCU competed well at last year’s Morris Williams Intercollegiate, finishing fourth place behind former Frog Tom Hoge's second career collegiate victory. He topped the individual leaderboard by one stroke.

After wrapping up in the state's capital, TCU will head to Lakeside, Calif., for the Barona Collegiate Cup March 22-23.
