FORT WORTH—TCU gears up for next week's appearance at the Big 12 Championship with a top-10 dual-match showdown against Georgia Tech on Friday in Atlanta, Ga.

The Horned Frogs, ranked sixth in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin national team performance index, will travel six individuals to Atlanta’s Capital City Club to compete against the eighth-rated Yellow Jackets. The two teams will play one round at the Crabapple Course, the host site for this year’s NCAA Championships in late May. Friday’s dual match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. ET.

Included among the six golfers TCU will feature against Georgia Tech are sophomore Julien Brun; seniors Pontus Gad, Daniel Jennevret and Eli Cole; and sophomores Sarosh Adi and Thomas Mantovanini. The Frogs will be without freshman lineup regular Paul Barjon for the second straight event as he recovers from an injury.

Brun (No. 4), Gad (No. 65), Jennevret (No. 80) and Cole (No. 81) each rank among the nation’s top-100 golfers according to Golfweek. Georgia Tech has three top-100 golfers: Ollie Schniederjans (No. 27), Anders Albertson (No. 33) and Bo Andrews (No. 94).

TCU will be participating in its second dual match of the season following a 4-1 win over Pepperdine in Los Angeles back in early March. Head coach Bill Montigel added the dual matches to his team’s schedule this year as preparation for a possible trip to the NCAA Championship. The eight-team finals portion of the national championship has been contested with a match-play format dating back to the 2009-10 season.

Following its stop in Atlanta, TCU travels directly to Hutchinson, Kan., for the Big 12 Championship at Prairie Dunes Golf Club. All teams will participate in a practice round Sunday prior to beginning the tournament with 36 holes Monday. The final two 18-hole rounds are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. The Frogs will take the second-highest national ranking into the week.
