FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU Athletics Department selected Tom Hoge (Men's Golf) and Kristal Juarez (Track and Field) as its Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances this past week for the Horned Frogs.
Hoge was the Frogs' top performer as the TCU sophomore recorded a fifth-place showing after posting a three-round score of 222 (73-73-76) at the NCAA Central Regional Championships.
The TCU men's golf program earned its 13th-ever berth to the NCAA National Championships as the Horned Frogs finished tied for fourth overall at the Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Okla. The Frogs will advance to their first NCAA National Championship since the 2004 campaign when TCU travels to Toledo, Ohio, on May 27 at the Inverness Country Club.
Juarez blazed to a personal-best time of 52.96 seconds to cross the finish line in third-place with the program's fourth-fastest time ever in the 400 meters. She recorded the No. 21-ranked time in the NCAA at the Mountain West Conference Championships in Laramie, Wyo.
Juarez was also part of the 4x100 relay team that set a new Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex record on Saturday to capture first-place honors with a regional qualifying time of 44.66 seconds.
