Brun Earns Big 12 Academic Honor

FORT WORTH, Texas – Julien Brun added another honor to his impressive collegiate career on Tuesday as he was named the Big 12 Conference Men’s Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year. Brun joins Stefanie Tan of women’s tennis as TCU student-athletes to earn the honor for the 2015 spring semester.

Brun is a two-time All-American Scholar and earned his undergraduate degree at TCU in December before posting a 4.0 GPA in graduate studies during the spring portion.

The Antibes, France, native will make his professional debut on Thursday at the Boreal Open on the Mackenzie Tour PGA TOUR Canada in Alberta. Brun recently earned exempt status for the 2015 season by claiming medalist honors at the PGA TOUR Canada's California Qualifying Tournament, locking in a spot for the final 10 events of the season.

Brun set 15 school records during his four seasons in the Purple and White, including nine tournament victories, and was a three-time First-Team All-America selection.
