Frog golfers enjoying action-packed summer of tournaments

During the 2008 spring campaign - the TCU men's golf program notched their best finish of runner-up laurels at the Mountain West Conference Championships to go along with its 19th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. In preparation for the 2008-09 season - several Horned Frogs are continuing to build on the TCU tradition at a plethora of tournaments during the summer months.
James Sacheck (The Woodlands, Texas / Zionsville H.S.)
Sacheck competed with over 300 golfers in order to secure a spot at the 2008 British Open this summer. The TCU junior notched a finish of 209th overall with a 36-hole score of 159 (78-81) as he failed to make it to match play at the British Amateur. The TCU senior recently competed at the North & South Amateur Championships in Pinehurst, N.C. - which plays host to the 2008 U.S. Amateur Championships. In one of the most difficult amateur tournaments in the country - Sacheck finished fourth overall with a three-under-par score 138 (68-70).

Scott Roudebush (Austin, Texas / Austin H.S.)
After failing to advance in the Southern Amateur Qualifier by a single stroke in his third tournament of the summer - Roudebush found his way to Aiken, S.C., where he finished 42nd overall at the Palmetto Amateur Golf Tournament where a four-round score of 304 (75-75-79-75). Roudebush recently competed at the Cotton States Invitational where he defeated Aaron Stewart of SMU in 20 holes of competition in the Round of 64. On the next day - Roudebush dropped a 1-up decision to Praneeth Perera of Colorado State in the Round of 32 at the Cotton States Invitational.
