During the 2008 spring campaign - the TCU men's golf program notched their best finish of runner-up laurels at the Mountain West Conference Championships to go along with its 19th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. In preparation for the 2008-09 season - several Horned Frogs are continuing to build on the TCU tradition at a plethora of tournaments during the summer months.

James Sacheck (The Woodlands, Texas / Zionsville H.S.)
After becoming the second-ever individual qualifier for TCU at the NCAA Championships - Sacheck has put together an extremely competitive summer schedule as the Frog senior recently got back from the British Amateur at the historic Westin Turnberry Resort in South Ayrshire, Scotland.

Sacheck competed with over 300 golfers in order to secure a spot at the 2008 British Open this summer. The TCU junior notched a finish of 209th overall with a 36-hole score of 159 (78-81) as he failed to make it to match play at the British Amateur.

The TCU senior recently competed at the North & South Amateur Championships in Pinehurst, N.C. - which plays host to the 2008 U.S. Amateur Championships. In one of the most difficult amateur tournaments in the country - Sacheck finished fourth overall with a three-under-par score 138 (68-70).

Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas / Paschal H.S.)
Woolf recently wrapped up action at the North & South Amateur Championships in Pinehurst, N.C. - which plays host to the 2008 U.S. Amateur Championships. In one of the most difficult amateur tournaments in the country - the TCU senior recorded a sixth-place showing with a 36-hole tally of 140 (68-72) - including a 68 after the first round of action.

Scott Roudebush (Austin, Texas / Austin H.S.)
Roudebush has been one of the busiest golfers for the Frogs during the summer months as the TCU senior has competed in five tournaments over the last month of action. The Austin, Texas, talent finished 30th overall at the Texas Amateur in Houston, Texas, then posted a fifth-place showing at the CPT Blackhorse in Cypress, Texas.

After failing to advance in the Southern Amateur Qualifier by a single stroke in his third tournament of the summer - Roudebush found his way to Aiken, S.C., where he finished 42nd overall at the Palmetto Amateur Golf Tournament where a four-round score of 304 (75-75-79-75).

Roudebush recently competed at the Cotton States Invitational where he defeated Aaron Stewart of SMU in 20 holes of competition in the Round of 64. On the next day - Roudebush dropped a 1-up decision to Praneeth Perera of Colorado State in the Round of 32 at the Cotton States Invitational.

Michael Levy (Fort Worth, Texas / Country Day)
Levy has recorded a pair of top-10 finishes this summer as he recorded a fourth-place showing at the Southern Amateur Qualifier in Houston, Texas then posted a 10th-place listing at the Nevada State Match Play in Genoa, Nev.

Johan de Beer (Johannesburg, South Africa)
De Beer competed alongside future teammates James Sacheck and Alexander Knappe at the British Amateur where he tied for 209th overall with a two-round score of 159 (77-82).

Alexander Knappe (Germany)
Knappe competed alongside future TCU teammates James Sacheck and Johan de Beer at the British Amateur where he tied for 194th overall with a 36-hole score of 158 (77-81).

Ryan Ammon (Waco, Texas / Waco H.S.)
Ammon advanced to the Round of 64 at the Cotton States Invitational in Monroe, La., where he fell to Thomas Kearney of UTSA in the first round of match play.

Ryan Myers (Flint, Texas / Odessa College)
The newly-inked Frog advanced to the Round of 64 at the Cotton States Invitational where he dropped a decision to Jamie Marshall in the first round of match play.
