Former Frog J.J. Henry will be one of the hosts for the Nov. 2 TCU men's golf alumni reunion.
July 30, 2013
FORT WORTH -- TCU men's golf will host an alumni reunion this fall during the first weekend of November in conjunction with TCU's Nov. 2 football home game against West Virginia.
All former Horned Frogs golfers, letterwinners or not, are invited to attend the event scheduled for Nov. 1 and 2. Hosts for the weekend will be three-time TCU All-American and current PGA standout J.J. Henry, former Frog and 1971 Masters champion Charles Coody and longtime head coach Bill Montigel, who is entering his 27th year at the program's helm. The TCU Lettermen's Association is organizing the event.
"We're excited to put together this reunion to celebrate all of the Horned Frogs who have come through this program over the years," Montigel said. "Having great TCU ambassadors and teammates like J.J. and Charles should really help us to gather a big turnout. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the guys I've coached over the years who I haven't seen in a while."
The reunion weekend begins on Friday, Nov. 1, with a late afternoon tour of the newly rebuilt Amon G. Carter Stadium followed by a dinner that evening at Joe T. Garcia's in the Fort Worth Stockyards. The Lettermen's Tailgate Feast opens Saturday's events prior to the football game at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni Center two hours prior to kickoff. Game tickets for the TCU-WVU matchup will be made available for purchase at a group price of $35, a discount of $30 from the normal rate. Those men's golf alumni who choose to attend the game will be recognized on field at a timeout during the contest.
